Young students in Providence need HELP, and Inspiring Minds can help you decide how to make adifference! We are a 50+ year- old educational non-profit looking for volunteers to become tutors and confidence-builders.
Our opportunities include in-school tutoring with students grades K through 5th grade. We are currently in great need of volunteers who can commit to at least one hour a week. No previous teaching or tutoring experience is required, and training is provided.
Individuals who are bilingual Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.
What do volunteers do: Volunteers enter the classroom once a week and visit the same children each time. The teacher will provide the volunteer with set activities to practice with the students in order to grow their skills to be proficient. Volunteers may also be asked to float the whole classrooms keeping students on task or help with specific one-day skills (like logging onto the computer). Volunteers bring time, attention, care, and love to our students which helps them succeed!
