PURPOSE:
To assist Operations staff in the efficient set-up, maintenance and breakdown of Society public programs and events.
DUTIES:
-Communicating with staff to ensure that the museum is presentable at all times during events, by reporting any operational issues that arise;
-Assist with deliveries, teardown, setup, cleanup, and other Operations needs related to preparation of our special events and family friendly programming;
-Work with Operations personnel to successfully execute events at the Museums;
-Support all other aspects of the event with physical operation and logistical needs;
-Complete all allocated tasks in a safe and professional manner.
SCHEDULING:
Volunteer opportunities are only available during our regular schedule of programs and events beginning Fall, 2016.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
-Excellent listening and verbal communication skills;
-experience producing quality content under extreme deadlines;
-customer service experience is a must;
-maintain an outgoing, helpful personality;
-must be able to lift at least 25 pounds;
-must be extremely dependable;
-ability to work independently and make responsible decisions;
-be willing to adapt to changing circumstances and workloads;
-having first aid/AED/CPR certification a plus, but is not a requirement to volunteer.
TRAINING & SUPPORT:
Volunteers will receive on-the-job training in event operations, focusing on following tasks given in a timely manner and visitor FAQs.
