Volunteers engage PAL youth in fun education and recreation activities.

The Police Athletic League of New York City seeks dedicated and skilled volunteers to support a broad range of creative arts activities; including art (visual, drawing, painting, sketching, sculpting) that promotes creativity, self-expression, teamwork, discipline, commitment, and fun learning for PAL teens.

For nearly 100 years, PAL has provided safe and supportive afterschool and evening programming for elementary aged youth and teens.

Mission Statement

The Police Athletic League, together with NYPD and the law enforcement community, supports and inspires New York City youth to realize their full individual potential as productive members of society. "The Best Friend A Kid Can Have"

Description

The Police Athletic League (PAL), founded in 1914, provides a broad spectrum of services to 40,000 children living in challenging neighborhoods in all five boroughs of New York City each year including Afterschool, Summer Day Camp and PAL Playstreets. Our educational, recreational and cultural programs inspire and support children throughout the year.

While PAL is one of New York City’s longest serving youth service organizations providing 35,000 young people with safe and supportive environments afterschool, evenings and weekends, we simply could not make the impact we do throughout New York City without the support of our volunteers. Each year, teams of volunteers lend a hand at special events to support us in our mission. Examples include PAL’s PAL Packs Back-to-School Drive, MLK Jr. Day of Service, PAL Playstreets, Adopt-A-Center, Cultural Day, and PAL’s annual Holiday Party, just to name a few.
