Help Youth Freshen Up! Shower and Laundry Assistant

HomePlate recently moved to a new office space! For the first time, we are hosting Tuesday afternoon office hours where youth between the ages of 12 and 24 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instabiltiiy will have the opportunity to stop by and access resources, staff, showers, laundry, and have a safe, welocming place to hang out! For our young people living outside, having access to showers and laundry is huge! It's our pleasure to provide our youth with these services. We would love having a volunteer who could support our youth in having a positive expereince accessing our shower and laundry facilities in the follow ways:

• Aid youth in signing up for showers, orient them to the shower protocol, and ensure shower facilities are in good condition for the next youth to use.

• Aid youth in signing up for laundry services, training them in laundry machine usage, keep the laundry schedule flowing and the laundry space tidy.

Volunteers need to be friendly, patient, and have good time managemnt skills.

Volunteers need to be at least 18 (preferably older), commit to volunteering every week for at least six months, fill out info for background and reference checks, complete a skills and interest survey, interview, and undergo our four hour orientation and training for new volunteers.
