The Advocacy Intern is responsible for helping Goodwill-Easter Seals shape public policy that affects individuals with barriers to employment and self-sufficiency. The Advocacy Intern assists with strategic organizing, monitoring legislation and coordinating grassroots advocacy activity during the 2017 State of Minnesota Legislative Session (January - May). Specific duties may include: attending committee hearings, writing policy briefs, creating issue updates, coordinating advocacy and outreach efforts, and assisting in the area of self-advocacy by supporting program participant attendance and logistics for three "days on the hill".
