About

Volunteer will be trained and matched with an senior who is interested in improving his/her wellness through action oriented goals that involve basic exercises. This is an evidence based program proven to increase mobility and independence, leading to increased confidence in other exercise opportunities. Staff and Volunteer will make initial visit to Client’s home to demonstrate the exercises. The Volunteer will then develop a telephonic relationship with Client, calling on a weekly basis for 11 weeks to monitor goals, encourage and review issues. Key principals of program include goal setting, active listening, empathetic support, and increasing motivation through self efficacy. Training, supervision, and support are provided by the Center.

  • 2 home visits and weekly 15 minutes phone calls
