NARS Foundation is holding our annual benefit event on November 9 from 6 -- 9:30 PM at Tenri Cultural Institute, located on 43 W 13th St. We are looking for volunteers to assist during the event, as well as with set up throughout the day. Shifts are available to meet volunteer availability. Opportunities include bartending, art installation and handling, food distribution, and set up and break down. If you have experience with any of the above or just want to lend a hand for the day, reply with your contact information and hours of availability for November 9.

The New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization committed to supporting artists and curators on an international level as well engaging the local community in Brooklyn and the Greater New York area. NARS provides an array of creative support services and professional development opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists through short-term integrated residency programs, affordable long-term studio spaces, progressive exhibition programs, international exchanges, and engaging public programs that foster global understanding and dynamic cross-cultural dialogues. These services operate in conjunction with our community outreach initiatives to promote greater accessibility to contemporary art for the under-served local community in south Brooklyn. Our mission is to present diverse platforms on which to nurture creative inspiration and innovative cross-pollination of ideas.

Description

The New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation was founded in 2006 and gained its non-profit status in 2010. NARS provides professional development opportunities through its International Artist Residency Program, Short-Term Workspace Program, and affordable long-term studio spaces. The NARS Gallery exhibition program strives to present the most interesting works being produced in the greater New York City area along with works by international and national artists providing a platform for various discourses and fostering cross-pollination among artists of disparate backgrounds. Through Educational Ppogramming, NARS opens its space to the community for free family exhibition tours and children’s workshops as well as creating partnerships with underserved local schools.
