Seeking Adults that enjoy chess, like children and would be interested in supporting an after-school chess club at one of the Dedham public elementary schools. These chess clubs typically meet on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00pm.

The volunteer role includes supervising chess pairings between students each week, setting-up a chess ladder (optional) and offering guidance when asked regarding basic game rules and other chess-related questions. Clubs typically have up to a dozen student players spanning grades 1-5. The role is fun, doesn’t require more than a basic understanding of the game and a great way for adults to engage with elementary school students.

The Endicott Estate Greenhouse Program oversees the placement of Chess Club volunteers at Riverdale, Avery, Oakdale and Greenlodge elementary schools. For more information, please contact us.
