NSEA and Bellingham Parks and Rec team up to improve salmon habitat along Little Squalicum Creek. We will be removing invasive vegetation and planting native trees and shrubs! Park at the Bellingham Technical College lot and look for signs.

NSEA educates, inspires, and engages the community to take action to keep wild salmon here for future generations.
Description
NSEA works with Whatcom County landowners to improve habitat for salmon, steelhead, cutthroat trout, and native char that has been degraded by past land use practices. NSEA implements 30 new stream restoration projects throughout Whatcom County every year, and also maintains and monitors previously planted restoration sites. NSEA projects provide excellent opportunties for community outreach and public education through direct participation of landowners in salmon habitat restoration. NSEA's school and community education programs provide opportunities for community members to move from awareness to knowledge to action in their own watersheds as neighbors learn the basics of salmon and stream ecology, and environmental stewardship.
