On average, 1 in 7 people in California aren't sure where their next meal is going to come from. As the rising cost of living continues to make it difficult for millions on Californians, there are now even more ways to take action in the fight against hunger.
The Outreach Program, started in 2004, has packaged nearly 400 million meals across the country in support of food banks and community feeding kitchens. We are expanding into California and looking for advisory board members to help us grow and identify potential volunteer groups in the Santa Cruz and Monterey areas.

Mission Statement
The Outreach Program is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation that organizes food packaging events around the country. With nearly 400 million meals packaged to date, the organization’s mission is to provide safe water, food, medical care, and education to those in need, at home and abroad.
Description
Across the US, Outreach operates a mobile events program; working with different volunteer groups in local communities to package high-protein meals during a fun, 2-hour service project. Outreach meals are then provided to area food banks, feeding kitchens and after-school programs at no cost since each group fundraises to cover the meals they package together. Internationally, Outreach has provided medical aid, helped to build children's centers and works with communities to support clean water and farming initiatives.
