Come shine a spotlight on the work of girls interested in STEM!
DIY Girls provides hands-on STEAM projects to over 1200 girls in LA County. We are ready to show off their projects at Central Library's Mini Maker Faire!
Demo assistants will:
- explain the girls' STEAM projects to fair attendees
- guide attendees through a short demo of a similar project
- receive virtual training on the girls' STEAM projects
- receive in-person training
Virtual Training (20-40 minutes) to be completed before day of the Mini Maker Faire

When: Saturday December 3rd, 10am-3pm

Description
DIY ("Do-It-Yourself") Girls’ mission is to increase girls’ interest and success in technology, engineering and making through innovative educational experiences and mentor relationships. We're a supportive community for girls driven by an interest in creating and building with technology.
DIY Girls uses a three-pronged program approach that integrates engagement, capacity building, and continuity to ensure girls’ success. We offer after-school and summer programs that provide hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiences for girls. Girls learn technical skills and apply them by creating their own creative projects and inventions.
DIY Girls has served over 4000 girls in Los Angeles since 2012.
