Use your professional experience and technical expertise to offer short creative videos that excite, motivate and mobilize prospective donors and supporters. You will have an opportunity to work independently to produce, edit and fulfill projects. Projects will range from interviews to fundraising and marketing videos, donor and recruitment projects. In this role, you will be able to demonstrate initiative, organization, and problem solving skills and acquire credits and footage for your own reel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce, edit and fulfill usually short five minute video which highlights on topics ranging from the impact of our work, groups or individuals we work with, and products from the communities we serve

  • Select footage or photos that is appropriate to the narration and replace some of the footage of the original.

  • Dub in the narration sound track

  • Develop concepts for new videos

  • Cataloging, organize and archive all video materials. Video team members will help determine the media that will be archived and the media that will be discarded, so they should have a keen eye and a thorough understanding of how and when footage should be used.

Skills and Abilities Needed

  • Have reliable access to a computer for editing video (including having any necessary software programs)

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, Premiere , or Final Cut Studio - AND HAVE YOUR OWN COPY

  • Understanding of compressions, codecs, and media storage

  • Experienced narrative storyteller

  • After Effects & Photoshop experience is a plus

  • Ability to absorb and respond to creative feedback

  • Ability to work independently and make creative decisions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

You must be able to commit to a minimum average of 10 hours a month. This is a "virtual" team opportunity which may be performed from home or another location.

Community Empowerment Network's (CEN’s) operations are nearly entirely driven by the efforts of volunteers (the only exception is our Field Manager in SantarĂ©m, Brazil, who is paid under contract). We are a small organization and so lines of responsibility sometimes overlap, but this provides a terrific opportunity for volunteers to take on a variety of responsibilities and to expand their skills.
