The Young Parents Program provides a safe, stable place for young parents to learn the independent living and parenting skills necessary to support themselves and their new child. Parents who turn to LifeWorks may have aged out of foster care, gotten pregnant while homeless, been kicked out of their home, or their family may simply be unable to support them.
As a part of our program, LifeWorks hosts small groups of pregnant and parenting youth ages 13-24 to participate in monthly group classes at our LifeWorks East Site, 835 N. Pleasant Valley Rd - Multipurpose Rooms.
Volunteers are needed to provide childcare during these group classes while our staff are leading the group.
If you are interested in volunteering at least once a month please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Volunteer application process: Once you fill out an application the director will do a phone screening, make 3 reference calls, then you will come in to do a background check. After this process you are an official volunteer. Next, you will participate in a short training on child supervision, sign volunteer paperwork, and pick your first volunteer shift.
