Empowering youth to stay in school!

Help Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CIS) empower students to stay in school and achieve in life! CIS is looking for volunteers to assist 5th graders at Dawson elementary with their Magnet School Appliations. Applying for Magnet School can be difficult and stressful for our students, and you would be providing the community support to get kids in the best schools to suite their needs.

Volunteering would take place on Thursdays at either 7:45-8:30 or 9:30-10am from Oct 27-end of January.

Description

Communities In Schools of Central Texas has programming in 100 elementary, middle, and high school campuses across Central Texas, providing support services to students and families. Volunteer opportunities range from one-time events to weekly commitments and can include working directly with students or supporting CIS behind the scenes. Campus-based volunteers are matched to meet weekly with a student during the school year, beginning in the fall and continuing until the end of the school year.
