You have the opportunity to directly impact a group of boys and young men. We are seeking a volunteer to join our mission as a volunteer house parent for our Kansas City boy's home. As a volunteer house parent, you will work with, support and offer respite for our hardworking full-time residential staff. Responsibilities for this position could include, but are not limited to: cooking and preparing meals, tidying, transporting scholars to events and church, and of course building positive relationships. We are seeking a volunteer who is available during the weekends and is able and willing to stay overnight at the boys home 1-2 weekends a month.

As an organization that works with children in a family-like setting, we take careful measures to screen and vet potential volunteers. In addition to your completed volunteer application and submitted proof of identity, the on-boarding process for this position will include an interview, reference checks, and background checks: one simple name-based check with the National Sex Offender Public Registry, one with the Family Care Safety Registry, a State/Federal fingerprint based check, a DMV check and submitted proof of car insurance as well as a drug and health screening. Generally, the entire on-boarding takes about a month to complete including a welcome and orientation.
