Position - Social Media & Ad Coordinator (Marketing & Development Team)

Reporting to EKARI’s Executive Director, the Social Media & Ad Coordinator will manage EKARI’s social media and advertising sites. This role will work closely with members of the Marketing and Development Teams as well as with EKARI’s Malawi field office staff and community partners to expand awareness about EKARI’s work.

Responsibilities

• Advertising strategy/execution for fundraising and donor outreach
• Social media strategy/execution for fundraising and donor outreach
• Story development and writing

Qualifications

• Online advertising experience (GoogleAds, Facebook)
• Strong computer & social media skills (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Hootsuite)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
• Desire to approach challenges strategically and creatively
• Ability to incorporate suggestions and meet deadlines
• Well organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful
• Enjoys engaging a diverse community
• Committed to EKARI’s mission

Time Commitment

This position requires a commitment of 3 - 5 hours per week for a minimum of one year. We offer flexibility in when and how you complete those hours as long as deadlines are met. A majority of the tasks and responsibilities can be done remotely, working online, at a time that is convenient for you. Although this is a volunteer position, we expect a high level of professionalism - we ask that you apply the same level of professionalism that you would at your workplace.

Compensation

This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation.
