Are you wanting to get involved with the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network? Do you love the great outdoors? Are you a hiker, wildnerness survivalist, hunter, or interested community member? Are you into or interested in physical fitness? Have you had Combat Search and Rescue Training or experience? Maybe, you are a fire-fighter interested in volunteering for a similar cause? Do you want to be the one to rescue someone from danger, or inspire people by being proud to be part of a wonderful community service?
If you have any of these traits, qualities, interests or experiences, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for interested Search and Rescue Crew Member candidates to build additional Search and Rescue Teams. We are in the business of searching and rescuing missing persons when cases occur, which call for activation of our search and rescue teams.
As part of the team, you will become part of a dynamic group, with a family feeling. Other members come from various backgrounds. Voluntary firefighters, reserve sheriff's deputies, nurses, emergency medical technicans, and other concerned citizens. Whatever background you come from, we are in need of your help!
Upon successful completion of the Illinois Search and Rescue Council's (ISARC) 16-hour Ground Search and Rescue course, you will be a certified volunteer search and rescue member, and earn the title of Wildnerss Search and Rescue Technician for the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network's SAR Division.
A Wilderness Search and Rescue Technician is a member of Quad Cities Search and Rescue. You will search for and rescue those in trouble in urban/suburban as well as other environments within the Quad Cities and the surrounding areas.
