You provide the groceries and the recipes, we provide the space!
Groups come into our kitchen at make the meals. Most teams (8-10 people)/individuals make yummy (4 or more) casseroles in 9 X 13 pan for our clients. These casseroles are served to the clients after they attend daily 11am-1pm classes that they are required to attend such as parenting classes, budgeting, job club, career development, etc. So they are being fed with food and fed with knowledge! I could send you some examples of recipes that teams/individuals have made in the past or you are welcome to come up with your own. We just ask that you print out the ingredients (to account for food allergies) and procedures (because we like to have a variety for other teams). Teams are responsible for bringing all of the ingredients for the casseroles. While the casseroles are in the oven, we take a tour of the facility and learn more about what we do here at Save the Family. Teams could also come up with other meal ideas outside of casseroles. If it’s something that could be served that day, teams would need to come in the morning so that clients could eat around 1pm. Ideas would be things like burgers and fries, fried/baked chicken, etc.
