Thrift Works Resale Botique

We are looking for people who enjoy retail as well as interacting with young people to work in our onsite resale clothing boutique.

The Work Group operates, Thrift Works Resale Boutique. Thrift Works is both a thrift store and a training opportunity for the students in our Youth Corps program. We are looking for volunteers to help staff the store as well as provide training and mentoring to youth. We are also looking for individuals with experience in retail marketing and social media to help spread the word about our store.

The store is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and 8:00pm on Fridays. We are open to flexible volunteer hours throughout those times.

The Work Group operates within the New Jersey Youth Corps of Camden County. It is a voluntary program for young people who have dropped out of school. Annually we serve approximately 60 individuals between the ages of 16 to 24 years. The experience is a rigorous one - a full-time combination of academics leading to High School Diploma testing, work experience through community service, work readiness training, life skills, career exploration and counseling. The Work Group is a full-time four month program which runs year round.

Description

The Work Group is a private, non-profit corporation which operates the New Jersey Youth Corps of Camden County. The Work Group’s Youth Corps is a voluntary program for young people who have dropped out of school. We accept approximately 100 young people annually between 16 to 24 years of age. The experience is a rigorous one - a full-time combination of academics leading to GED testing, work experience through community service, work readiness training, life skills, career exploration and counseling.
