Position Summary:

The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities to connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. We are currently looking for individuals with a marketing and sales background for the Recruiter position. We have found that candidates working in retail, hospitality and other sales positions are very easy to train for our full time recruiter position. We specialize in areas of customer renewal, customer retention and customer acquisition. The Recruiter is a part time volunteer position that involves a commitment of a few hours a week. You must be willing to join us at our monthly meetings at 10am on the Second and Fourth Saturday of the month. The Recruiter will assist the Human Resource Director with recruiting candidates for different volunteer positions. The title of the position is subject to change before being hired.

Responsibilities:

The Recruiter will assist the Human Resource Director with recruiting candidates for different volunteer positions. The Recruiter will assist the Human Resource Director with the following tasks:

1. Receiving and screening resumes
2. Spending a lot of time interacting with job candidates on the phone and in person
3. Building relationships with and interviewing candidates
4. Administrative tasks
5. Locating and attending career fairs and other community events

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
• Must be able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to connect with others and develop relationships
• Committed to the mission of serving young adults with disabilities
• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain detailed records and confidential information

About the Disability Allies:

The purpose of the Disability Allies is to plan team building activities that connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. At our events we pair each individual up with a mentor. The job of the mentor is to help the participants with their social skills and insure that everyone interacts with each other.
