Stony Point North's Superstar Challenge and Health Fair

The "Superstar Challenge" consists of a "Walkathon" with "Physical Activity Stations". Students will be obtaining pledges and donations as they would in a typical "Walkathon" fundraiser. All proceeds will go toward developing our playground and school campus at Stony Point North. The schools playground was unfortunately vandalized and burnt down earlier this year.
Volunteers are needed to run the "Physical Activity" stations along a designated course on the playground and school campus area. These physical activities include: an obstacle course, relays, a football throw for distance and accuracy, a basketball shooting activity, a dance station, a jump rope station, a soccer goal kick station, a nutrition-physical activity station, etc.
The event is on Thursday, October 20th and volunteers are need from 5:00-7:30pm.

There is also a health fair with organizations presenting on health and wellness topics. The mission of the event is t o provide a Fitness and Wellness activity for the students, parents and community members in the Kansas City area to increase our knowledge about the importance of physical activity and healthy eating and to develop a lifelong healthy lifestyle.

Other Partners for the events include the Kansas City Chiefs, KC Healthy Kids, WYCO Health, and KC Community Gardens.
