BOOnanza 2016 - Investigate with Science

October 29-30, 2016

Something is missing in the Science Center and it's up to our visitors to solve the mystery!

The game is afoot as this year’s costume party days at the Science Center put you at the center of the caper. Get a "clue" and see if you can be the first to catch the culprit.

Volunteers are needed to play the characters of the classic board game, Clue. Below are a list characters and suggestions for costumes. You can feel free to add or change items as long as it is noticeable which character you are. Basically, stick with your characters color - Professor Plum should wear purple, Miss Scarlet should be in red, etc. Also, make sure you are still following Science Center dress code while volunteering. Costumes should be workplace appropriate.

Ms. White - Ms. White is the house maid. Wear all white or a combination of white and black. Add a white apron and feather duster.

Professor Plum - When putting together the Professor Plum costume, think of yourself as a nerdy college professor. Wear a purple suit that fits a bit too tight while adding thick glasses to round out the look.

Miss Scarlet - A red dress is all you need to portray Miss Scarlet...the glitzier, the better. Accessorize with a red purse and gloves.

Colonel Mustard - A military man clad in yellow, start with a jacket and add various medals to achieve a respectable look. To better resemble the character as he appears in game artwork, add white facial hair and a monocle.

Mr. Green - A green-tinted suit and slicked back hair is needed to pull off the sleazy business man, Mr. Green.

Mrs. Peacock - The costume should resemble an aristocrat, with sapphire jewelry to highlight your color of choice. Wear a flowing blue skirt and extravagant, glitzy hairpiece or stylish accessories.

The Butler - You're suited for duty in a black tailcoat, faux shirt with attached vest and bow tie, and matching pants. Don't forget white gloves. Think Downton Abby!

The Detective - Start with black pants and black shirt. Add some accessories such as a trench coat, fedora, and sunglasses. Don't forget your magnifying glass!

Keystone Cop - Wear a jacket and pants with metal buttons and gold trim. Add a keystone cop hat, gloves, and badge and you are set!

Any Clue style costume - Any costume (any color) that fits with the general style of the original clue board game. Sherlock-Holmes style dress clothes, British tweed jackets, etc.
