Adopt a stream in Baltimore County's Gunpowder Valley

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Gunpowder Valley Conservancy

  • 2 people are interested

The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy is looking for volunteers, age 18+, to join our Adopt-a-Stream Program. It’s easy to participate:

  • Attend an Adopt-A-Stream training
  • Agree to clean your adopted stream segment twice a year
  • Send us your trash data
  • Watch for and report stream hazards

It’s that simple! Adopt-A-Stream is great for individuals, families, neighborhoods, scout groups, Eagle scout projects, churches or school groups.

In the workshop, you will learn about the threats to the health of the Gunpowder Watershed and how to help to protect and improve our local creeks and rivers. Topics will include how to safely remove trash from the waterways, how to properly identify problems such as sewer breaks and illicit discharges, and who to contact to report such problems.

To register for the workshop or for more information, contact
