VPACC (Virtual Public Aerospace Career Concept) is looking for 3D artists to help design fictional mockup High altitude flight suits (similar to NASA’s ACES suits) as part of a planned public space exploration project. The ultimate plan is to manufacture these suits as useable wearable prototypes. Therefore we are also looking for someone with some experience in CAD work for 3D printing. It would also be helpful if you have any interest or skills in working with fabric or flight suits. We are hoping to 3D print substantial parts of the project. You would be working as part of a larger volunteer 3D art and design team already at work on numerous parts of VPACC’s creative strategy.
Preference given to candidates in the Washington, DC metro area. While much of the work can be done virtually, it would be benificial to be able to have you meet with the rest of the local team members during the project.
VPACC’s Mission statement: We are pioneering an entertainment-centric, long-term strategy to engage the public in scientific literacy and STEAM education.
VPACC plans to engineer an innovative and exciting new entertainment system. VPACC is first focused on engineering sets of midrange high fidelity full motion and static flight simulators to operate in unison, allowing us to create excitement and mission architecture that can be shaped into a set of long term informal entertainment and educational programs.
The suits represent the first immersive layer on a three layer strategy that also include the cockpit and cabin environment (with which the suits will be designed to work with) and the virtual world setting built around the simulation.
VPACC is also looking for 3D artists to assist with artistic models of the simulators.
