Earth Rights Institute is launching a big initiative in West Africa on climate action. We are wanting to build a bridge internationally between networks, universities, local government and institutes that are involved in climate action. Our goal is to develop strong partnerships and collaborations between these two worlds to strengthen the movement in addressing climate change. It is our mission to be a voice for Africa as a major stakeholder in this global crisis and to bring awareness to California what is being done on the ground today.
Earth Rights Institute will be co-hosting with UCLA a 2-day public forum on Africa's Readiness to Address Climate Change for Fall 2019. We are looking for two volunteers who can help us with coordinating this big event. It will involve outreaching to potential sponsors and partners as well as helping organize the visit of a delegation of African dignitaries and officials to Los Angeles. Our objective is to build strong ties between Africa and Los Angeles who are working on climate action.
This is a great opportunity to experience organizing an event and providing the foundation to build international relationships that could result in sister cities and data exchange and more.
