Primary Responsibility of Volunteer:

The Office Support Team at Century Plaza is looking for a dedicated volunteer who wouldn’t mind completing administrative tasks that the team isn’t always able to complete but are very critical to the job. The team needs a volunteer to commit to coming in at least once a week during business hours to assist the team. One of the main projects that need assistance with is to organize and put together Managed Health Care and MNSure Packets during the open enrollment time period.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to do repetitive administrative tasks

  • Organization skills

  • Respect for confidentiality of customers

  • A sense of responsibility toward the position demonstrated by good attendance and punctuality

  • Professional appearance and behavior

  • Positive attitude

  • Respect for the multicultural nature of the customers including their dress, religious beliefs, and language

  • Must be 18 years or older and pass a standard background check

Time Commitment:

At least once a week for a 1-3 hour shift during business hours during the open enrollment time peirod

Supervision:

The volunteer is supported and supervised by the on-site staff members of the Self Service Room. A Coordinator of Volunteers assists with volunteer service agreement, provides most training, and manages other volunteer program matters.

  • Letters of recommendation can be written on request after completing initial commitment

  • Performance reviews are provided by a Coordinator of Volunteers with input from on-site staff members

Description

The work of our Department tends to fall into three major areas:

  1. Increasing safety and stability of individuals and families through services such as child and adult protection, providing temporary emergency shelter, and more.
  2. Promoting self-reliance and a livable income through a mixture of federal and state programs, such as SNAP (food support), Child Support, Veterans' Service, cash assistance programs and more.
  3. Improving the health of the community through public health care programs, restaurant inspections, regulating emergency medical services, providing crisis response to behavioral health emergencies, immunization services, a public health clinic, and more.
