Loaning an animal your couch can save their life! - Every 16 seconds an animal is euthanized simply due to overpopulation. Shelters do not have unlimited space and unfortunately have to make room. Rescue groups do not have the facilities and rely on fosters to help. Simply by agreeing to foster you can save an animal’s life.

ARF’s German Shepherd Rescue is partnering with Doobert.com, the leading online forum for animal rescues, animal shelters and volunteers, to help get more foster homes for rescue animals.

How it works:

1. Sign up on Doobert.com or use the Facebook plug-in (search for "Doobert Rescue" on Facebook) and build your foster profile for how you can help foster animals. You get to pick the type, duration and tell potential shelters and rescues about your situation. It’s up to you what information you share.

2. We allow approved animal welfare organizations (Shelters and Rescues) to search for volunteers like you, based upon distance and your foster profile. They can see the information you’ve shared and reach out to you if there is a match.

3. You’ll be contacted by them directly and can determine if you are able to help that particular organization with fostering either overnight, short-term or longer-term. It’s up to you whether you help when you’re contacted. You'll get plenty of doggy and kitty kisses and thank you's along the way as the animals know you are there to help them.

And there are many more ways to help volunteer to save animals on Doobert.com. It's simple and we need volunteers across the country - so share with your friends, family, and co-workers and help save an animal today!

About ARFS GERMAN SHEPHERD INC

Location:

PO BOX 44, LODI, WI 53555, US

Mission Statement

AGSR specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of homeless German Shepherds, mostly acquired from Wisconsin shelters. These dogs have no advocates and are frequently scheduled for euthanasia (even puppies!) because there just aren't enough homes for all the dogs that need homes right now. Our foster homes are almost always full with shelter dogs, so we generally do not accept owner surrenders.

Description

We are a home based foster organization made up entirely of volunteers. All dogs live with us like our family until they are adopted. We fully vet all dogs, micro chip, spay/neuter and give the best care that we can to all our foster dogs. We also take in hospice dogs from shelters and homes when they can no longer stay there. We also work to try and keep dogs in their homes whenever possible by helping find aid for medical and food needs.
