Here in rural central Appalachia, wood is used to provide heat for many neighbors because of its low cost. There are high levels of poverty in this part of the country.
We attempt to help those in need by providing split wood, which dries faster and produces more heat. Our firewood ministry needs volunteers throughout the year to help split and deliver firewood out in the neighboring hills. If you, your family, your church group, or a group of friends have some time, you can volunteer in our Firewood Ministry.
