The Allegheny Land Trust and Tree Pittsburgh will be planting 2,500 trees and we need your help!
This exciting tree planting will take place at the Audubon Greenway in Sewickly Heights. The trees being planted will be very small and will go into the ground quickly, but we'll need a lot of help to achieve our goal of planting them all! In order to reforest a section of this Greenway and provide a visual screen for recreational users, we will be experimenting with a reforestation technique known as the Miawaki technique. This exciting technique uses small trees at a very dense spacing in order to reduce competition from other weedy plants.
This will be an exciting event for the whole family, taking place in a beautiful pastoral landscape in Sewickly Heights. A pizza lunch will be provided following the event.
