This position is a Voluntary position, that will allow a person to gain incredible volunteer experience and great leadership experience. The position will eventually become a paid position. We use 1-2 persons in this position especially for our upcoming Free Shopping & Pampering Day for Women of Domestic Violence, Homelessness, and Impovershment, on Sat. Oct. 22nd, at St. Mary's Center, 925 Brockhurst Street, Oakland. Over 1,000 women and children in attendance this year!
Volunteer Coordinator will be in charge of managing 100-200 volunteers and will report directly to CWA Board of Directors
- Will appointing Volunteer Leaders to oversee smaller groups of volunteers in each area and will report directly to Volunteer Coordinator
- Areas for each Volunteer Leader include:
- Setup / Staging / Cleaning Crew
- Moving / Labor Crew
- Guest Registration
- VIP, Press, Vendor, Volunteer Registration
- Bagging Table
- Food Prep Service and Food Servers
- Hostesses
- Children's Area
- Pampering Stations
- Information/Vendor Booths
- Baggage Hold
- Light Security
- Maintain and mange list of Volunteer leaders and staff
- Schedule staff shifts to help maintain adequate coverage for event
- Conduct 2 conference call-in’s - to be set up to go over volunteer responsibilities and times they are to arrive for the various areas
- Liaison between Board members and Volunteer Team Leaders
- Overseeing time sheets of all volunteers - sign-in sheets, clip boards, and badges at the end of the event.
- Attire to wear -black tops and black pants or jeans, comfortable shoes as we will all be on our feet
- In charge of All Volunteer Staff meeting held around 11amdetailing any final duties, changes, and question/answer session for those who missed the conference calls. Board members to be included here.
