ORGANIZATION: ROOM IN OUR HEARTS INC

Room In Our Hearts, an organization dedicated to helping families in crisis restore one room in their home using recycled and repurposed materials, is seeking one to two volunteers to assist our organization with grant-writing duties, including filing applications, ensuring the organization adheres to guidelines and helping research new grants applicable to the organization. We are seeking individuals with some grant-writing experience who are interested in working with non-profit organizations. The right candidate will be passionate about helping RIOH grow and expand in order to reach the numerous families seeking our help. GRANT WRITER/COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

Have a working knowledge of grant writing in the non profit arena. Be willing to oversee and work with Graduate Interns to help source and obtain grants for different areas of the business. Research grant options and oversee deadlines for submission and reporting. Create and submit grant reports as due.

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families whose homes have been affected by crisis. Our mission is to redecorate one room in these households from conception to completion in the most sustainable and creative way at no cost to them. The room of their choice includes furniture, artwork, home décor and small comforts of home from recycled, repurposed and refashioned items that are unique and special. New items are used as an alternative.

Description

Whether buying, renting or rebuilding a home after a crisis, furnishing it can be monetarily impossible and emotionally overwhelming. Other agencies offer furniture and household items but not complete coordination of a newly designed room. There is great demand for this service in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The request can be as simple as creating a fantasy bedroom for a preteen to designing a sitting room for a senior citizen to anything in between. Room In Our Hearts is positioned to complete these decorating challenges with style and grace by the most sustainable means possible.
