Mission Statement

The mission of Trenton Children's Chorus is to empower the academic, social and spiritual lives of children through artistry in music.

Description

Trenton Children's Chorus (TCC) is a 29-year old award-winning nonprofit whose mission is to empower the academic, social, and spiritual lives of children through artistry in music. Our tag line, Making Music, Making Friends, Making a Difference, speaks to TCC’s artistry, its commitment to community, and as a reminder that the gift of music can be used to make the world a better place.

TCC provides exceptional social and personal opportunities to the young people it serves in the greater Trenton, NJ area, regardless of each child’s financial situation. The program gives young people the chance to sing a wide range of choral literature, and to experience the artistic power and spirit of creating music together. TCC offers choral music education and performance opportunities; drumming and keyboard instruction; music theory instruction; tutoring, homework assistance, SAT prep, and college application help; summer camp experiences; leadership enrichment programs; employment opportunities for selected high school members as Rehearsal Assistants (RAs); financial support for outside tutoring and music lessons; and scholarships to all choristers who go on to attend college. Tuition is determined based on a sliding scale and no child is ever denied participation because of limited resources.
