Volunteers help once weekly, partnering with students to brainstorm ideas and then put their art and design project to action! Volunteers don't have to be "artistic," but CAN does encourage positive-minded problem-solvers to sign up to help with this fun and rewarding opportunity.
To build meaningful connections with CAN’s children and youth, volunteers should commit to 12 hours minimum per semester (or 1 day a week for 6 weeks).
CAN Art & Design Volunteers might:
- Supervise students during outdoor recreation time
- Supervise and mentor students during snack breaks
- Check in with Art & Design instructor to learn about daily needs and projects
- Help students with tasks like using a hot glue gun, cutting, assembling work, etc.
- Assist in post-project clean-up
- Assist in conflict resolution
- Help students use technology (iPads, computers, etc.) to research
- Inspire students to bring ideas to fruition
