Do you like being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Do you want to receive community service learning hours? Then come and join us, and make a difference for future generations!

The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) needs help planting 200 young trees on 2 acres in Parkton. This event is part of a reforestation project to restore a riparian (stream bank) forest buffer along an important tributary to the Gunpowder River. Enthusiastic GVC volunteers have planted more than 28,000 trees in the Gunpowder Watershed since the early 1990’s and we need your help to plant even more!

Remember to wear boots, pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, gloves, and bring rain gear and water bottle. Water jug and refreshments will be provided.

This event will take place Rain or Shine! Try to arrive by 9:45 am to sign in and get ready.

Funding for this reforestation project was provided by a grant from the MD Dept. of Natural Resources
