Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower youth to be active players in creating a healthier future.

Description

Located in the East Bay, UrbanPlay is a 501(c)3 nonprofit leading the movement to empower youth to be active players in creating a healthier future. Fulfilling our mission requires a multifaceted approach, enacting change in youth fitness and wellness on several levels. We work directly with kids in our community by partnering with local schools, after-school programs, and youth organizations to teach and promote healthy choices and active lifestyles, using play as a vehicle for education. We provide our local community with free classes and events to expose families to easy and accessible ways to make fitness a part of daily life. And finally, we outreach to teachers, educators, and administrators, providing training and resources to enrich their youth programs and curriculums at schools, after school programs, and youth facilities across the country.
