Bakersfield Marathon

Volunterrs are need for Bakersfield 1st Marathon, it is a USATF-certified full marathon, half marathon, 2-person half-marathon relay and a 5K fun run taking place on November 13th, 2016. This annual, world-class event features the starting line and finish line celebration on the California State University, Bakersfield campus. Participants will run through dozens of iconic neighborhoods including the Stockdale Financial District, Oleander, Downtown Bakersfield, Westchester, Kern County Museum, Bakersfield College and finally along the Panorama Bluffs before returning to the finish line on the scenic Kern River Parkway.

Participated in the 18th & Eye Parking development and fundraising drive Brought the Bakersfield Christmas Parade back to the Downtown Started the Downtown Street Fairs

Raised $100,000 to save Bakersfield’s Historic Fox Theater * Started the "Up on the Rood Party" * Led the project to save and preserve the Unreinforced Masonry Buildings downtown * partnered with City officials on the Chester Avenue Streetscaping Project
Worked with city officials to expand the Streetscaping Project from "k" to Eye Street & Chester Ave. from 24th St. to Garces Circle * Participated in Bakersfield’s Charretee Process which has resulted in the fallowing City Improvements: Mill Creek Central Park , McMurtrey Aquatic Center & Ice Rink, Rabobank Arena, Maya Cinema, Wall Street Alley, 19th & Eye Improvements & the Padre Hotel Restoration * Continued to Promote downtown businesses through the popular Hwy 99 Cruise 'n Show, Downtown Street Fairs, First Friday’s and other Downtown Promotions and activities *
