2118 NuWay Counseling Center is located in the historically designated Pillsbury-Snyder mansion.

NuWay is seeking Reception Volunteers at its’ 2118 NuWay Counseling Center to work 4 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. 8 hour shifts would be available, if interested. Duties will include greeting & directing guests entering the building, answering phones & taking messages, signing for packages, sorting mail and answering questions. Skills preferred include: friendly, welcoming and minimal computer skills. Reception Volunteers need at least one year of sobriety, if applicable. If f a former NuWay client, at least one year since discharge from programming. Reception Volunteers will be expected to maintain confidentiality.

To provide a temporary home or homes for the homeless alcoholic with a sincere desire to arrest his disease (ALCOHOLISM)to return to a useful life, and find contentment in sobriety the home environment will be supplemented with counseling, teaching, and practicing a pro gram of group therapy on ALCOHOLISM, and by explaining it through a medium of interviews, classes, lectures, and meetings also to promote the physical, intellectual, social, economic, and spiritual welfare of the alcoholic.

Description

NuWay House, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals recovering from substance & use and mental health disorders since 1966.

We emphasize developing, sustaining and nurturing freedom from substance use disorder and mental illness. We support our clients as they learn skills to maintain sobriety and health and integrate into a level of successful independent living in the community. Many of our clients have had previous attempts at recovery.
