Manifezt Foundation seeks an exceptional candidate to join their organization as a Research Associate. The RA will work closely with the Program Director to identify, research, develop latest technological advances in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The Research Associate (RA) position reports directly to organizational leadership. The Ideal RA candidates will be comfortable in an environment that requires a high level of independence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to use discretionary judgment. Under the general direction of faculty member(s), RAs will develop, design and conduct research projects; synthesize, analyze, and produce statistical models; contribute to scholarly research products including but not limited to journal articles, working papers, workshops, and presentations.

Primary duties

Engage in and take on significant desk and field research assignments, requiring them to be comfortable interacting with a wide range of senior leaders and forward-thinkers. Research efforts will likely include conference or workshop planning for individual programs as well as some limited travel to workshop locations.

Exercise independent decision making with regard to progression of research project and methodologies. When confronted with research data, be able to make deductions, add insight and draw conclusions to share with staff. Collaborate in development and implementation of workshop educational curriculums. Use knowledge of quantitative methods to analyze and interpret results. Work independently with research methodologies to identify gaps in research data and methods. Produce innovative academic materials to supplement organizational research and teaching practices. Make recommendations to various teams based on statistical interpretation and independent research. Analyze, interpret, and evaluate the quality of results.

Ensure compliance with department, organization, and federal regulations. Complete work with only general direction.

Under general direction of faculty member, must be able to take complex research ideas, concepts, and methodologies and development them into new projects and situations. Must be able to structure assignments and keep team members informed as necessary, using own judgment.

Competitive candidates will have distinguished themselves in undergraduate study, will have some interest or depth of knowledge in related fields, and will have demonstrated strong initiative and leadership skills in prior assignments. Strong interviewing and analytic skills will be required to gather background information from study participants, and strong writing and blogging skills will allow the RA to contribute significantly to interim and final products. Candidates should also exhibit an interest in helping to change the world through the practice and teaching of theory to managers and leaders in the business, nonprofit and government sectors.
