• Formed in 1955, Beach Cities Health District is a public agency that provides health care services to the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
• BCHD communicates with volunteers through a monthly newsletter. This executive-level volunteer will support Volunteer Services by writing the Volunteer Spotlight of the Month, ensuring that all written pieces are clear, error-free and of professional quality.

Duties:

• Receives information regarding volunteers selected for Spotlight of the Month
• Set up interview and interview volunteer
• Write content for volunteer newsletter’s spotlight
• Submit by deadline

Qualifications Needed:

• Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation
• Familiarity with Associated Press style guidelines
• Experience with Microsoft Word
• Excellent copy/editing and proofreading skills
• Versatile style, with ability to assess audience’s needs, both internal and external, and develop copy that communicates clearly and concisely with them
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing quality product

• Participate in simple intake process conducted by Volunteer Services
• Interview with supervisor

NOTE: Work is done virtually but someone in the Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, or Manhattan Beach area preferred.
