Mission Statement
Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) supports community-driven development programs worldwide through the design and implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while fostering responsible leadership. The Central Ohio Professional Chapter (EWB-USA COh) empowers global communities through design, implementation and education, while engaging the local community through mentoring and partnerships.
Description
EWB-USA COh was established in 2007 by a group of local engineers in partnership with the Ohio State University student chapter. We are a non-profit membership organization located in Columbus, Ohio. EWB-USA COh relies on donations, business sponsorships, grants and in-kind donations to help provide sustainable engineering solutions to communities worldwide.
Currently, our chapter project team is engaged with the rural Mayan community of Las Victorias, Guatemala. The residents there need a new school to help lift their children and future generations out of poverty. Following an initial trip to assess the desired features and requirements, the team is analyzing data necessary for completing the design and construction as the project moves forward.
Please visit our website and learn how you can help shape the future lives of others!
