North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset is looking for caring people to volunteer as a Patient and Family Ambassador with our Patient and Family Centered Care Department. Patient and Family Ambassadors are specially trained to p romote patient and family centered care, enhance service by welcoming patients and offer information about various hospital services. Ambassadors round on patient units to help address nonclinical needs, assist with service recovery in a timely manner and support unit staff in its efforts to make patients comfortable.

Description
The Volunteer Office of North Shore University Hospital assists in the delivery of comprehensive health care to the community by obtaining and retaining an adequate number of competent and satisfied volunteers in order to augment the services of the hospital’s personnel. Our volunteers serve patients, families, visitors and staff.
