If you are age 55 or over, and you are reading this, you are able to help! Across Missoula County teachers are seeking help in the classroom to mentor students in Reading and Math. We have a couple options to choose from- Ranging from minimum 2 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. If you are eligible, you can even receive a tax free stipend and mileage reimbursment. Description
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD
The Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors age 55 and older opportunities to serve as mentors, tutors, and loving caregivers for children and youth with special needs. If you are interested in serving as a Foster Grandparent, you must meet income eligibility guidelines, and you will receive a modest, tax-free stipend to offset the cost of volunteering. Foster Grandparents serve 20 hours a week, usually 4 hours a day Monday through Friday, serving children directly with one-on-one, hands-on service. Other benefits include reimbursement for transportation, some meals during service,and accident and liability insurance while on duty. Pre-Service and monthly training sessions provided.
