Pro Bono Partnership seeks attorneys to provide pro bono legal assistance to nonprofits in New York (lower Hudson Valley and Long Island), New Jersey, and Connecticut. Give back to your community by assisting on a legal matter for a local nonprofit. Matters can be small and discrete or complex, team-driven projects, and are generally not time-sensitive. Volunteers can select projects based on location, nonprofit affiliation (from animal welfare and social services to youth programs, and everything in between!), or area of expertise. Professional Pro Bono Partnership staff attorneys can provide model documents and other resources as needed.
All pro bono legal matters are transactional or business-related, and suit the needs of busy in-house and law firm attorneys:
- Bankruptcy, Mergers and Dissolution
- Compliance with Regulations
- Corporate/Corporate Governance
- Employment/Labor/Employee Benefits
- Environmental/Land Use
- Incorporation/Tax Exemption
- Intellectual Property
- Real Estate
- Trusts and Estates
Nonprofit clients are pre-screened. During screening, the Partnership identifies and processes legal matters, and sends opportunities to our volunteer attorneys. To receive our bi-weekly pro bono opportunities for local nonprofits, please contact Rachel Sachs at rsachs (at) probonopartner (dot) org.
