Advocating for Disability Empowerment

We need another set of eyes going online to search for low income, accessible housing for adults with disabilities whom we are trying to help move out of nursing home facilities. We use an Excel format as we gather the data from the search. Initailly we fill out a simple form for each potential location. Once we accumulate those pages they then can be added to our Excel form at a later time.

Our office is located in the Columbus Speech and Hearing Building E. North Broadway and Indianola. Our facility is accessible and we are located on a busline.

We are a non profit agency that supports anyone of any age with any disability. That makes us unique because most disability organizations serve a specific population. We serve Franklin and Delaware County Ohio.

Description

We support people to be included in their communities as they would if they didn't have a disability.

We provide:

Information and Referral

Independent Living Skills Traininig (as chosen by the person with the disability)

Advocacy for Individuals

Advocacy for bigger systems like transportation, housing, physical access etc.

Support for Nursing Home Transition (people moving from nursing facilities back into the community)

Support Youth in transition from high school

Training and Consulting on the Americans with Disabilities Act

We do not charge consumers for our services
