ORGANIZATION: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

GG

We are seeking volunteers to serve as Gallery Guides in the Museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed to guide Museum guests who speak Spanish or Marshallese. Other languages are also welcomed.

Interested individuals (this includes current volunteers and those who wish to become volunteers at the museum) will be required to interview for the opportunity and undergo two phases of training. Interviews will be conducted in November of this year. Phase one of the Guide training (a two-week intensive session) begins in February, and phase two in June of 2017. Details about the trainings will be covered in the information session.

Once each candidate has completed training and been accepted as a Gallery Guide, he or she will be asked to make a commitment to offering tours and attending ongoing trainings.

How do I learn more?

To learn more about what it means to be a Gallery Guide, and to receive an overview of the training required, attend one of these information sessions at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Sessions will be held in the Bellows and Cassatt classrooms on the Museum’s lower level.

Mission Statement

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art welcomes all to celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of nature.

Description

Crystal Bridges is an American Art museum featuring art spanning the 17th century to today. Art is located in the galleries as well as across the 120 acre trails and grounds.

Crystal Bridges and the Momentary are committed to creating institution s that reflect the diversity of our region and nation. We are especially mindful of those in our community impacted by inequity due to ability, language, class, age, gender, religion, sexuality, race and ethnicity, and are working diligently to address perceived and real barriers that keep anyone from fully experiencing the museum as a guest, volunteer, or employee. To achieve true reform, we must have a diverse, highly qualified team. We are committed to creating a diverse environment. All volunteer applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. We actively encourage minority volunteer applicants to apply and join our team.
