Planting Trees, Growing Communities
Volunteer Team Leaders help the TreeUtah staff show volunteers how to plant trees, all while being safe and having fun outside!

Trees are vital not only to the health of our watersheds, but also to providing urban recreation experiences. Join TreeUtah and Salt Lake City Open Space to explore the Jordan River Corridor while planting 10 Fremont Cottonwood and Peachleaf Willow trees! It promises to be a fun and challenging day enjoying the fresh air and giving back to our local environment.

Mission Statement

TreeUtah’s mission is to improve Utah’s quality of life for present and future generations by enhancing the environment through tree planting, stewardship and education.

Description

TreeUtah is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and since our inception, we have been educating people of all ages about the benefits that trees have in our communities, throughout Utah. TreeUtah is designed to facilitate local tree planting projects, lend technical support by overseeing community tree plantings, organize and mobilize volunteers, as well as educating and training the public in tree stewardship. We also serve as a catalyst in developing the community alliances that are critical to preserving Utah’s urban and community forests.

Since 1990, TreeUtah has planted over 350,000 trees throughout the State of Utah from the help of over 120,000 volunteers that have donated over 200,000 volunteer hours. We seek to educate the public about the environmental and social benefits that healthy tree commun-ities provide.
