About NEW CENTURY CAREERS

Location:

Mission Statement

New Century Careers (NCC) contributes to the economic health of Southwestern Pennsylvania through meeting manufacturing workforce needs by working to deliver a capable workforce to employers of the region. NCC seeks to improve the lives of individuals through the development of skills that lead to good quality family wage jobs and careers.

Description

NCC's successful MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K) pre-apprenticeship program has been helping to build the next generation of precision machinists for more than 10 years. Individuals 18 and older are recruited, screened and provided with tuition-free, hands-on training in high demand technical careers. Upon completion of the program, successful graduates are placed with manufacturers in southwestern Pennsylvania's nine-county region. Starting salaries for our graduates are $10.00 to $15.00 per hour. Recent graduates working in manufacturing careers report an average wage of $16.61/hour with benefits. Most are working significant overtime, which pays 1.5 times the hourly rate and receive wage increases at least annually.
