Family First is a collaboration between Family Centers and Greenwich Public Schools. This spring a number of students are enrolled and are committed to the program five days a week with a goal of closing the achievement gap by providing supportive services to them and their families.
We are seeking Tutors to assist K-5 students attending this program. Tutors will provide academic support in math and reading for students on an as needed basis. Instruction and activities are designed expressly to promote subject mastery, develop grade-level competencies and to teach study skills.
Tutoring shifts are available Monday through Thursday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm and is performed virtually on the Google Meets platform. The program is looking for Tutors who would like to volunteer one day a week and is willing to commit for an 8-week cycle of volunteering.

Mission Statement
Family Centers' mission is to empower children, adults, families and communities to realize their potential. Our NAEYC accredited preschools, school-based social work, parental education and adolescent counseling services, give families the resources they need to ensure their children have the bright beginnings they deserve. A comprehensive network of counseling and support services is also instrumental in helping families in crisis work toward a successful resolution. Vocational training, housing resources, counseling and self sufficiency programs also help low-income people and those with long-term mental illness realize their dreams of living independently. Meanwhile, our senior outreach programs encourage lifelong learning, socialization and support.
