Be A Part of the Solution.........Because Giving Back is Always in Style
The Hanger is a small shop with a big impact. Teens in foster care often move from house to house, usually with very few belongings. As they enter each new environment or school, they have only ill- fitting clothes that they didn’t choose, further diminishing their sense of worth and identity. The Hanger is a simple and effective solution. The Hanger is a storefront where teens in foster care can "shop" for donated clothes and accessories, free of charge. It’s a simple concept that most of us take for granted. But for a foster teen, being able to choose and wear your own clothes builds self-esteem. Teens also apply, interview and are hired to work in the store, building life skills and work experience. Most importantly, the Hanger is a positive gathering place where teens are welcomed and affirmed.
Two store captains are needed every Saturday afternoon.
