"TRUE COLORS: OATHKEEPERS SHORT FILM & MUSIC VIDEO": As an African-American female with many family members, race relations in the US is an important issue to me. I will discuss the history of race relations and people of color in the US, specifically the cross sections between men concerning crime, stereotypes, and consequences across the country. We have a lawyer, judge, and police officer review their "oaths" and examine the repercussions of breaking that oath. This will culminate with a music video cover of the song "True Colors" but will tell the fictional story of an African-American male’s interaction with the justice system.

We are currently searching for individuals to play the following roles:

  • 3 young black males (aged 11-13)
  • 2 adult black males (early 30s)
  • 1 young black female (age 7)
  • 2 older black females (in 20s; in 60s)
  • 3 older white males (20s; 30s; 50s)

Please send your interest, inquiries, resume, and headshots to desiree.velazquez1@gmail.com or lkpadeh1231@gmail.com for consideration. Even if you don't have all of these items, please send what you have as we are looking to start shooting ASAP. This will be a life changing project for all participants. Hope to hear from you soon!

Description

The Survivant Organization (TSO) is a newly formed non-profit dedicated to eradicating domestic and sexual violence in females aged 16-24 through research, interactive education, and advocacy. One in every four women will experience domestic and/or sexual violence. But girls in this age range are four times more likely to experience these kinds of violence over any other age group. TSO implements programs that increase awareness, create safety plans, facilitate legal representation, and provide additional neccessities for survivors on their journey to recovery. Every woman we assist will be provided with holistic solutions, guiding survivors towards a life free from violence and abuse.
